!!Boxing!!?

hi, is boxing any good for weight loss...??

thanx :)|||Of course not!|||I've never boxed, but I was on the wrestling team.I ended up dropping about 30 lbs.Boxing is the only sport out there that conditions you more than wrestling. Its a very effective way to drop weight as long as you don't starve yourself. You can lose weight very fast in a sport like that.Mostly due to all the conditioning. After a while you might end up gaining weight, but don't worry.Chances are is that weight will be muscle and not fat.|||yeh but not for ur brain, run at a wall and bounce ur head off it, cos thats what it feel like even when u win, i love it, ended up with menengitus with it a 16, still love it, but too many friends with brain damage who i boxed with. try swimming and girls go to the baths|||Depends on your approach.

A lot of the 'conditioning' training that boxers do, is excellent for redistributing and removing bodyfat. If you do a lot of this work, at a level that allows you to stay active the rest of the time as well, then this is an excellent way to achieve or maintain a healthy weight.

If you are training to fight, then part of the work will be designed to increase your punching strength. This heavy, exhausting work will also INCREASE your bodyweight. By adding extra muscle tissue, the work that helps you to 'throw your weight around', also gives you more weight that you can use to damage your opponent with.

Overall, boxing is a good example of the idea that 'weight loss' is a good, or healthy, ambition. Training to be a boxer will make you HEAVIER, while it reduces your bodyfat and improves your stamina, confidence, balance, strength and agility.

Whether you are training hard or not, losing weight almost always makes you weaker.|||i did boxing for a while and can say that i didn't like that i was losing weight from it. i dont know if you are talking about boxing that involves sparring and matches like i did, or if you just want to do it for exercise|||yes! it really gets your heart pumping %26amp; a lot of thetraining is cardio %26amp; toning too. if you don't fancy the contact element try boxercise classes
