What is the difference between boxing and kickboxing?

Im a 17 year old female that is interested in joining a boxing gym but im not exactly sure what i would be getting my self into. Also, what is the difference between boxing and kickboxing? I play softball but i have cataracts and it is beginning to effect the way i play so boxing/kickboxing is on my list. If anyone goes to The Boxing Gym in the St. Louis area could you tell me about how much classes cost?

Thank you|||Kickboxing includes kicks and the biggest difference might be in how they evade strikes. In boxing, you would duck lower and uses steps more but in kickboxing, you shouldn't duck low since there are possibility of getting kicks or knees to the face and you don't want to step around or hop around too much since it'll make it harder to block the leg kicks.

Anyways, I do both and I like both just as much. There's a good boxing gym in Manhattan. It's on 5th Ave, 28th street and it cost $139 per month and it's open 7am-9pm and you can come in any time you want and stay as long as you want.|||I suggest you take kickboxing classes. I mean you have hands as your basic weapons you were born with but your legs can pack a lot of damage as well. Besides, why limit yourself?|||boxing= just punches and blocks

kickboxing= punches with kicks

i say go with kickboxing because its more variety of striking form|||Boxing is with the use of hands only. Kickboxing is with use of both hands and feet.|||KICKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
