What are the chances of the Philippines getting a gold medal in boxing in the next Olympics?

Onyok Velasco managed a silver before. Manny V. Pangilinan is now Chairman of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines. As an exemplary business manager, can he manage a gold in boxing in the next Olympics? What must he do? Any suggestions?|||Better now than in the "pre Pacquiao" era, Manny Pacquiao has pretty much single handedly put the Philippines at the center of the boxing world and raised the awareness of the sport in his home country to an all time high. Young boxers attempting to follow Pacquio'a lead have put the Philippines in great position to make a run at Olympic gold as amateurs. .|||There are really no impossibilities for the Philippines to get a gold in the Olympics. Filipinos just needed to possess the guts, the fortitude, and the determination. There is always a possibility due to favourable combinations of circumstances, and that circumstances only depends on the the Filipino athlete himself, by not blaming the government on there moral and financial support. By not looking for some deficiency of our system. Winning the gold is succeeding with great difficulty and with the effort that is really inconvenient. That's what i think this Olympic gold medal means. Go Pinoy!!!!|||well, we should keep our sport facilities updated, especially our boxing training facilities that could give us that elusive single gold in the olympics. he can start by giving our boxers outside the country experience, get topnotch coaches and trainers (i heard they're getting cuban coaches again) and supply our athletes some incentives such as livelihood and housing perks.


we may have a "good" chance IF these things are at hand, these small big things can push our athletes to persevere.








to the guy down there saying do not blame the government....please look at our facilities, we do not have proper beds in our quarters back then, and with a 25 pesos meal allowance? how can you compete with an empty stomach? no matter how you persevere, without any help from the government we cannot win, although we give em a good fight. maybe you should see the chinese olympic programs or the koreans, the thais....they've got good programs for their athletes, and it shows come the olympics.|||Philippines has a big chance to win a gold in boxing in the olympics..


the country have lots of potential fighters..but not given a big break and enough financial support from the government. they should work in that.





but then.....having manny pacquiao...
